You're invited!
Sasaoka Yuriko, Michele Chu, Christopher K. Ho, and more.
Dear friends,
We are happy to invite you to a series of events during March art week! More details below.
🧸 PHD Group
Osaka-born artist Sasaoka Yuriko presents “Animale,” a surreal, immersive video installation exploring the complex relationship between humans and animals through the lens of labor, dependency, and societal narratives. Drawing from historical stories like Wojtek, the Syrian brown bear who served in World War II, and Laika, the Soviet space dog, Sasaoka investigates the roles animals play in human society, challenging human superiority in highlighting the fact that we all engage in labor.
Opening: Sat, March 22, 1–7 pm
Exhibition Dates: March 22–May 24
Art Week Hours: March 24–29, Noon–Midnight*
*Please note the gallery is still appointment only and the address cannot be found online. Appointments can be made at www.phdgroup.art/about or through our dedicated hotline: +852.5943.7541.

At Encounters, curated by Alexie Glass-Kantor, Christopher K. Ho presents “Return to Order,” a series of 30 brass-and-aluminum sculptures in addition to two new large-scale sculptures in hand-hammered brass. For Film, Sasaoka Yuriko will screen Gyro, a video work that reveals an imagined world entirely formed of hand puppets, painted body parts, and digitized imagery. The film selection is curated by Para Site Hong Kong.
